For the dual compound, two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. The arrangement of the mixtures is planned individually according to the desired properties of the Maxxis tires.
EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the side wall of various MTB tires from Maxxis. It is very densely woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.
Tubeless ready
Tubeless tires have many advantages: you can drive with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no hose, the risk of breakdown also decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tires. The bead of the Maxxis TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting is successful on all rims with standard dimensions when they are first inflated and with little liquid.
Bead core made of carbon fibers
Special bead cores must be used for tubeless road bike tires in order to keep the tire on the rim without a tube and at very high pressure. MAXXIS has developed carbon bead cores for this.
